India 2019: The Best Speech Of This Election Season

Granted this speech by Akbar Owaisi is not from this election season, it looks like it might be from two years back, but I watched it only a few days ago for the first time, and so I am going to count it as something from this election season, besides its relevance, if anything, has only gone up. It is a marvelous speech. I hope his party expands to the urban centers of India with this focus on the nuts and bolts of empowerment and development.

Akbar Owaisi has always been very impressive when it comes to delivery. He is a natural. He is the Virat Kohli or oratory in Indian politics. But in this speech what also comes forth is he has thoroughly done his homework. Indian politicians are not known to do that. They simply get up and do the stream of consciousness thing. Here Akbar can be seen going from page to page, reading out statistic after statistic. He successfully impresses upon his voters that their votes are valuable. If they vote right, they can get more government money to show up in their neighborhoods.

I am impressed. I wish Akbar Owaisi the best in the next state and local elections in Mumbai. I think their next target after Hyderabad is Mumbai. They are trying to expand into Mumbai.

Owaisi exhibits a high level of emotional intelligence in the way he presents himself.

Donald Trump Said Something Nice About Indians

A few days back Donald Trump said something nice about Indians. That was the first time. Otherwise he has not said anything nice about anybody, not Mexicans, not Muslims, not the Chinese, not white women. But he is trying to play nice with Indians. That’s a breath of fresh air.

What The Donald does not seem to understand is there are more Muslims in India than anywhere else in the world. Muslims came to India because there was too much sand where they were, and this was before oil, and so they came for the green. They came, they saw, they conquered. There are more Muslims on the Indian sub-continent than anywhere else in the world. India is the number one Muslim hub in the world. Muslims rule Bollywood, for example. India has had two Muslim presidents so far compared to only one black president in America. Don’t even get me started on Akbar. Akbar Birbal stories are still sold on the footpaths of India at dirt cheap prices. Akbar’s propaganda machine is still running full throttle. Compare that to the Soviet propaganda machine. Long gone. Gone with the wind.

Conversely, there are more people from India than from anywhere else in the world in the now Arab countries. Talk about people to people contact.

So, Donald, you can’t do right by Indians, and talk shit about Muslims. Can not do. Eepikaiye!

The goal is a total spread of democracy across the Muslim world and there the Owaisi brothers are uniquely positioned. They are a parliamentary force, they are a democratic force, they are an electoral force.

To the Hindus I say, take pride in your religion. But also, take pride in your citizenship. Your citizenship requires that you do right by Muslims.

Muslim marginalization in India has to end. Democracy has to be seen working for India's Muslims before it can be sold across the Muslim world.

Akbar was a great king. अब तो राजाओं का जमाना रहा नहीं --- I hope some day India sees a duly elected Muslim Prime Minister. That is what India has to do if it aspires to become a global power like America.
