As America’s death toll from Covid-19 approaches 60,000, I can’t help thinking of Maya Lin’s somber Vietnam Memorial — the wall commemorating the names of all our fallen soldiers, all 58,320 of them. How much smaller would this second wall be if we had a halfway fit president?
